A Toronto man handed over his phone to a man in a car that had asked if he could make a quick phone call. When the driver began to drive away with the phone, the owner of the device tried desperately to cling onto the car window. The man held on for a while, but eventually let go as he was dragged by the car and sustained numerous injuries.

America’s obsession with athleticism and sports culture facilitates in perpetuating a society in which rape is normalized. This was especially evident in the recent Steubenville trial in which two football players raped an intoxicated 16-year-old girl at a house party. Throughout the ordeal, the girl (Jane Doe) was not aware that she was violated until a viral video was broadcasted online. The disturbing video showed a former Steubenville student laughing wildly while making lewd comments about the victim being “dead” and “so raped.” In addition to the video, there were several nude photos of the young girl circulating online.

With so many people using computers and tablets, cursive writing isn’t used as often as it once was. 
In a recent Mashable story, occupational therapist Suzanne Asherson says there’s a link between cursive writing and brain development, and it should still be considered a part of a valuable skill set students are taught.“In today’s world… children need to know how to both use keyboarding to type, as well as being able to pick up a pencil or a pen and be able to write,” Asherson said to Mashable. “Both skills are necessary and should be taught to our children in order to have functional adults who are efficient in their jobs and in the real world.”

A couple says “I do” at Ikea!
A couple recently got married at the Ikea store that they met each other at years earlier. Despite the occasion, the store was not closed for the wedding, as customers were shopping around the store while the couple was getting married. To honor the couple, Ikea provided the newlywed with a suitcase from the store that contained bathrobes, slippers, an ice bucket, and a bottle of sparkling cider. Interestingly, they are not the first couple to get married at Ikea, as an Australian couple got married at an Ikea store, claiming that it “bought them closer together.” Other couples have followed similar paths and have said their vows inside of a Starbucks as well as at a Walmart store.
